RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A cool start to the weekend is on tap but the return of clouds and the risk of rain will mark a return of warmer temperatures into the area.
Tonight starts off with the clear skies and the drier air over the region. The result is a night where lows fall all the way back into the upper 30s and the lower 40s. Saturday will have sunshine in the morning and then the return of high clouds in the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 40s.
It will be mild for the trick or treaters on Saturday evening with partly cloudy skies and in the 50s. Overnight, when you remember to change the clocks back to Standard Time, temperatures will fall back into the mid 40s.
Sunday, clouds will be on the increase and rain could be knocking on the doorstep by later on in the afternoon. So rain could be a factor for the NASCAR race in Martinsville. Highs will be in the middle 60s. Rain is expected Sunday night and Monday over us. It should taper off in the afternoon with Monday’s highs in the mid to upper 60s.
Fair skies return on Tuesday and last the rest of the week. A strong storm out west will bring snow to the Rockies and push a lot of warm air up through the eastern part of the country. So we should see mild highs in the lower to middle 70s for the time frame.
