HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Henrico man is facing charges for child sex trafficking, a federal crime.
In federal court documents, investigators said that 46-year-old Stephen Callis would wait for the teen at her bus stop or pick her up in her neighborhood, drive to a hotel in Midlothian and pay her for sex.
Police say it started in October 2014, when the girl was 15. The teen said Callis knew her age.
Authorities began investigating after the teen’s father found sexually graphic texts on her phone.
Callis has been charged with sex trafficking of children and enticing someone under the age of 16 to commit prostitution. He is being held at the Northern Neck Regional Jail and an arraignment has been set for January 20.
