RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — What a beautiful day across the region yesterday. Today, will be even better. The area of high pressure responsible for our crystal clear skies has scooted east and offshore this will increase our flow out of the southwest and bring in a significantly warmer air mass to the area today and tomorrow. Look for sunny skies, a light breeze and highs into the middle 60s. Great day to wash the cars.

Tonight, a few more clouds make their way across our starry skies but nothing more, it will be a mild overnight as temperatures only dip into the middle 40s. As we head into the work week temperatures take us for a ride.

First on Monday, we start off sunny and very warm, some spots pushing 70 ahead of a weak cold front that will move through in the evening increasing our risk for a spotty shower or two. Behind it we cool down slightly as Tuesday’s highs only push into the lower 50s.

Shower chances remain in the forecast right into Thursday morning ahead of a much stronger and more potent cold front arrives from the west. Highs Wednesday back up to near 70 before crashing back into the 50s Thursday onwards.

Despite much model agreement a time-frame that we will be paying slightly more attention to is Friday, an area of low pressure looks to develop along that strong front offshore and tries to retrograde back westwards throwing some moisture our way, will it be cold enough? How far west does it trend? Does it stay just offshore and not bother us? All questions that will be answered in the coming days.
