RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A cold front will be pushing closer to central Virginia today and that will bring clouds into our region this morning with a chance of showers developing between 10 a.m. and noon.
The showers will last off and on into the afternoon and evening and their might even be a few rumbles of thunder later today. Since this weather system is moving in faster than we expected, yesterday, we will not see as much sun and therefore not be as hot with highs only in the middle 80s. This will also cut back on the strength or severity of any thunderstorms that develop, so we are not looking issues there. Any showers and thundershowers will come to an end by 10 p.m. and our skies will slowly become partly cloudy during the overnight and it will be muggy with lows in the lower 70s.
Partly sunny skies will return on Thursday and it will be hot with highs in the middle 90s.
Partly sunny skies will remain with us for Friday and Saturday with highs around 90.
It will get a little hotter for Sunday and Monday with highs in the lower to middle 90s under partly sunny skies.
As we look ahead into next week, we will remain in the lower 90s with partly sunny skies, but the chance of afternoon thunderstorms will return.
