RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Emergency repairs are underway on a water main break on Jahnke Road in Richmond — and they could take hours.
According to people who live in the area, water began springing up right onto the street at around midday. To stop the flow, the city had to shut off water to the area.
Residents tell 8News that this is the second time they’ve been without water in as many days.
There was a water main break on Sunday that crews patched up within an hour or so — Monday’s repairs are taking much longer.
The weather is also making it difficult for utility crews to repair the break.
Residents say it’s been stressful to have this happen twice in less than 48 hours.
“It’s very frustrating when I have a one year old and I have to circle around to get into my house,” Beth Greenberg. “I have dishes that need to be done. Laundry to do, I would like to give her a bath.”
Currently, there is a detour at Spruance Road if have to use Jahnke Road to get home.
