RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Human remains were found near a Richmond work site off Jennie Scher Road on Friday shortly before 11:30 a.m.
No word if it’s in relation to missing Richmond mom Katasha Johnson, whose home is less than a mile from where the remains were found.
Police used search dogs on Thursday to try and track her scent near her home along Jennie Scher Road.
According to police, someone just purchased the property where the body was found on — a crew was in the process of clearing it.Members of crew saw an arm and leg sticking out from a plastic bag and notified police.
Johnson was last seen dropping her daughter off at daycare on June 3. Police, who suspect foul play, found her 2001 gold Volvo but no sign of Johnson.
Police do not know if the remains found Friday are a male or female body. The remains are heading to the medical examiner’s office for identification and cause of death.
